Work today is hard. So many of us are stuck in fight-or-flight. And when it comes to larger career moves, it can feel like freeze. Nervous system activation can take many forms, but when we’re in it, it’s hard to see outside our bubble.
Is this you?
PAYING A HEALTH TOLL
Work has taken a toll on your body: burnout, a health scare, exhaustion that sleep won't fix. You're ready to start listening to your body’s cues again.
FEELING DRAINED
Work is draining all your mental energy, leaving little for anything else. You want your life back, and you don't know where to start.
getting frustrated
You've been striving to get ahead, but aren’t getting the payoff you seek. Now you’re maybe wondering what you’re doing it all for.
doing the work, but...
You may have done the therapy, read the books, done the self-reflection. You have more knowledge than you know what to do with, and it’s not getting you anywhere.
stuck in place
You’ve been dreaming of different work but stay stuck. You can’t quite believe another year has passed and you’re still in the same spot.
looking for answers
You want a dedicated space to reconnect with your curiosity and motivation, to ask the big questions and find the answers.
So what do you do to get out of the loop?
You probably talk to your friends...
but they know you and have a bias to get along.
You might go to your therapist...
but that's more for mental health.
You could hire a career councillor...
But more data doesn't necessarily mean more insight.
You can always go ahead and open another AI chat...
but it reinforces your current thinking and keeps you in the loop.
So what kind of professional specializes in career actualization?

Try hiring a Worklife Coach
These days, anyone can call themselves a coach. However, true coaching is a specific type of conversation. The International Coaching Federation defines it as a thought-provoking creative partnership that helps you find your own answers.
I partner with my clients as equals. I don’t hand out advice or teach. Instead, I help you get unstuck by digging deep to clarify your real goals. As an unbiased outsider, I see what you can't from the inside. Then we get honest about what you actually need, and design a plan to get it.
Find more ease in your work
You might come to me to work on personal development such as: setting and enforcing boundaries, what lurks under avoidance, surfacing your values and finding steps back towards coherence in your life.
You might also be experiencing a situational challenge you’d like to work through like: hitting a career plateau, career indecision, burnout, unemployment, creative blockers.
Regardless of the issue, we’ll follow a coach-approach, and get you taking steps towards change.
What to expect in our work together

Here and Now
You may have spent years under pressure, striving to make rational decisions, or even outsourcing your read on life to external metrics or the opinions of those around you.
When the stakes are high, it’s important to connect with yourself before taking action. Drawing on mindfulness tools and my current training in Somatic Experiencing, you'll learn to tell a true yes from a fear-driven one.

Creative Ideation
Maybe you’ve already talked your problems to exhaustion, circling the same ideas without getting traction. The loop can feel like progress in the moment, but nothing changes. It’s a common way smart people stay stuck.
20 years facilitating change through design has taught me that big problems can’t be solved through talk alone. Through design exercises tailored to your specific problem, you'll get your thinking out of your head and onto the page, so you can start planning your next steps.

Momentum
You don't need the whole map to take a step forward. Instead of the leap (blow up your life, over-extend and burnout) or the retreat (lay low, shelve the idea for another year), you'll run small experiments each week, gathering new data along the way.
The real value comes from asking the right questions. I'm ICF-credentialed and have real-world experience: my job is to help you pull out the real learnings from each move, so momentum doesn't stall.

Coaching and therapy can look similar from the outside, we're both interested in what's really going on for you. But they're different. Therapy tends to look back, working through past experiences and mental health. Coaching looks forward, getting you unstuck and moving toward what's next. I'm not a therapist, I don't diagnose or treat anything, and if something comes up that needs clinical support, I'll say so and help you find the right person.
Somatic just means body-based. In our sessions, that means paying attention to what's happening in your body, tension, energy, gut reactions, not just what you're thinking. I'm currently training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a method of working with the nervous system to process trauma, but in a coaching context it looks different: we're not working with trauma, we're using body awareness to help you get clearer and unstuck. A lot of people who reach out to me don't feel much in their body at first, that's completely normal, especially if you've spent years living in your head for work. You don't need any experience or background in this, I'll guide you through it.
Yes. Work problems rarely stay contained to work, they show up in your relationships, your health, how you spend your weekends. We'll follow whatever's actually relevant, even if it doesn't look like a 'work' topic on the surface.
Many workplaces have a wellness spending account or a professional development budget that can cover external coaching like this. I can provide a receipt or a simple description of the coaching for whatever process your employer needs, just ask.
That's actually the most common starting point. You don't need a clear topic or a polished problem statement, that's part of what we figure out together. Just show up as you are, and we'll find the thread from there.
Ongoing sessions run about an hour, over video call. The single Clarity Session is a bit longer, 90 minutes, since there's no follow-up call to pick up where we left off. We start by getting grounded, a minute or two to actually land in the room instead of rushing in from your last meeting. From there we follow whatever's real that day: talking it through, slowing down to notice what's happening in your body when you're stuck, or getting things out of your head and onto paper through a design exercise. You'll always leave with something concrete, a small experiment to try before we meet again. And sessions build on each other: I track the through-line across our work, connecting what you said weeks ago to what's coming up today, and reflecting back the patterns I notice. I'm an active partner in this, not just someone asking questions.
